US blacklists 2 Russian firms on suspicion of oil supply to Syria
WASHINGTON, Nov 20 (PRIME) -- The U.S. has introduced sanctions against Russian state-run companies Promsyryeimport and Global Vision Group on suspicion of oil supplies to Syria, the Treasury Department said in a statement on Tuesday.
The list also includes Iranian company Tadbir Kish and six people, including Deputy CEO of Promsyryeimport Andrei Dogayev.
The authority said in the statement, citing Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, “Today we are acting against a complex scheme Iran and Russia have used to bolster the Assad regime and generate funds for Iranian malign activity.”
According to Mnuchin, Tadbir Kish is facilitating the financial transfers supporting the scheme of supply of Iranian oil to Syria for Russian money.
The U.S. will actively persecute anyone who helps Syrian imports and exports, the ruler said.
